After Thanksgiving dinner, you and your cousin decide to explore the neighborhood. At the end of the street, you notice a giant pile of leaves.
Together, you make a running start and leap right into the middle of the pile! Suddenly, the ground opens up beneath you, and you find yourselves sliding down a steep slide.
Write a story about what happens when you land at the bottom of the slide. Where are you? Include three different things that happen on your adventure, and conclude your story by telling how you and your cousin get back home.

7th Grade: Open your email or document and read through my comments for you on your personal narratives. 

8th Grade: Please write the steps for a procedure to test between two brands of bubble gum for which one makes larger bubbles. I would like to see at least one hint for the reader and at least one diagram, data table or chart to help the reader complete your procedure.

Please go to your blogger site and respond to the following: What are you thinking about doing for your creativity project? What do you hope to learn about as your complete this project? What is your plan for how to use OT this week to work on your project?

8th Grade: After looking at the two candidates for governor, who are you going to vote for and why? Use specific factual evidence to support your stance.

  • Plank Project - you are going to be designing your own campaign - however today we have to start by independently looking at the issues that matter the most to you! 
    • Today please pick two of the issues that you are interested in from the list:

    • Using this resources you are going to complete the graphic organizer so you are knowledgeable about the issues before you start working within your teams.

Good Morning Peaceful Puppies!

7th Grade: Please write a narrative about a time that you were kind to someone else who needed help. 

8th Grade: Please write the steps for a procedure about comparing two items of your choice over which performs better - for example two brands of golf ball.  Please remember to have cohesive formatting, tips and hints for your reader and diagrams or data tables, etc. to help support their understanding of the procedure. 


  • 7th Grade:
    • Today all narrative leads should be submitted to schoology. Continue working on your rough draft. There are additional tasks on schoology for you to complete while you are writing your narrative. 
  • 8th Grade:
    • Today you are going to do a close reading to learn more about the position of Governor in the state of Vermont. Please take a copy of the paper graphic organizer to answer questions about Phil Scott and Sue Minter
    • We are going to be looking at a resource created by Vermont Public Radio.
