7th Grade - Take out your observation paper - are there any additional reflections, questions of observations you would like to make? Make sure you have observed three images.


8th Grade - Please make sure to submit your questions "Getting Rich Quick and your personal narrative are submitted to schoology. Next please respond to the following questions: 
1. From our learning about the Great Depression and the New Deal what has surprised you the most? Why? 
2. What is the New Deal? What was the intent of the New Deal?


7th Grade 

  • Finish your observations 
  • Next, we are going to dig a little deeper - What are these pictures of? 
    • Pick one of the photos that you looked at and you are going to present what they photo is actually of to the class.
    • You may want to make a few slides
    • What does this tell you about people's experience during this timeframe?

8th 
  • Look at the project outline to refocus our work 
  • Learning Scale - any feedback? Anything we should change?
  • Continue to do research about the projects that were completed then pick five and rank them 1 - the most 5 - the least you would want to do for your project. Start with this link.

7th Grade: I left comments for all of the letters that were placed in the folder - please take 15 minutes to make corrections and clear all comments. 

8th Grade: Please take 10 minutes to put finishing touches on your questions really focusing on the graphic representation of what the impact was of the stock market crash. 


7th

  • Know: What do you know about the Great Depression?
    • When in history did this happen?
    • Who was impacted?
    • What was life like at this time?
    • What caused this?
  • What is a primary source?
  • Photo Observation

8th:
  • Finish your graphic representation - either of the causes of the Great Depression or the Impact of the Great Depression 
  • The Stock Market Crashed...what happened next? 
  • We are going to watch the History of US documentary about the response of President Hoover and President Roosevelt
For tomorrow - be thinking about where else do you think the CCC had an impact on Vermont - what landscapes? Projects? Places? Towns?

      7 - Write a counterargument and rebuttal paragraph for a persuasive essay arguing that schools should not give homework. 

      8 - Write about a time that you tried something for the first time - a new type of food, a sport, a new ski trail, a new book that you loved, etc. 

      The goal for today - I can use a variety of strategies (peer edit, read aloud, writing conference, read comments) to edit and publish my final draft of my ODWP essay.
