Good Morning Nerdy Noodles!

In our exploration of WWII, we learned that President Roosevelt talked about the importance of the US involvement in the war efforts to help secure the four freedoms that were needed to make a more peaceful world.

At the end of the war as a way to bring peace and freedom to the world, the United Nations were formed and created the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. What do you think Universal Human Rights means? In thinking about what you know make a loose brainstorm of the things that happened during WWII that lead to the need for establishing Universal Human Rights?

  • 7th Grade: Turn in your final draft of your narrative to the schoology assignment
  • What are the Universal Declaration of Human Rights
    • Look at the primary source and try to re-write your article using language that younger students could understand and create an image to represent your article.
  • Present the articles to the class

Reflection: On your blog respond to the following questions
  • Do you think that the world needs UDHR?
  • Where there any UDRH that surprised you?
  • Did some seem to be the most important for keeping the peace, in your mind?
  • Where do you think your article came from? Why is it needed?
  • Are there current examples of the UDHR being broken?
  • How can these be enforced?
